SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Program, is the new name for the federal food assistance program formerly called Food Stamps. SNAP offers nutrition assistance to eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities.

Double Up Food Bucks is Colorado’s statewide healthy food incentive program through LiveWell Colorado. The program doubles the value of SNAP benefits spent (up to $20) and can be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables, helping people bring home more healthy food options while supporting local farmers. By restricting Double Up Food Bucks to Colorado-grown produce, the program helps local farmers boost their incomes, and that is great for the Colorado economy.

Double Up Bucks are free for SNAP/ EBT customers, and can be picked up along with SNAP vouchers at the Downtown Grand Junction tent on 4th and Main at the Farmers Markets. Customers may use their electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card (commonly knowns as Quest Card) to receive these vouchers. Funding for the program is provided by the Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive grant through the USDA along with over a dozen local and regional partners.
