Downtown Development Authority

PRESS RELEASE

The Board of Directors of the Grand Junction Downtown Development Authority (DDA) voted to approve a $500,000 contribution to the Las Colonias Amphitheater Project at a special meeting held this morning.  The funding request was received from the City of Grand Junction.  The funding is contingent upon receipt of a large Energy Impact Grant from DOLA which will enable a budget totalling $3.5 million.  If the City is successful in obtaining the grant the DDA’s contribution will result in the leveraging of an additional $500,000 for a total of $1 million due to matching DOLA funds.

The DDA receives its funding from tax increment financing (TIF) within the boundaries of the downtown district.  One of the primary goals of the DDA is the economic development of Downtown Grand Junction, including South Downtown.
