Downtown Grand Junction is committed to supporting events that add to the vibrancy of our district. Please review the following guidelines to learn if you’re eligible for financial support of your event up to $500.

Guidelines

  • Event must be held within the Downtown Grand Junction Business Improvement District (BID). You can learn more about our boundaries here or through the City of Grand Junction GIS Map (select Improvement Districts filter).
  • Applicants may be part of a nonprofit organization located within the City of Grand Junction, a small businesses within Downtown BID or an individual leading a collaborative event that fits the attributes below.
  • Event should aim to contribute to the vibrancy of Downtown. Examples include:
      • Supporting creatives and the artistic economy in Downtown
      • Encouraging Downtown as a gathering space for the community
      • Activation of Public Spaces
      • Collaboration between Downtown businesses/nonprofits or directly benefiting a nonprofit (located anywhere within the City of Grand Junction) or a small business(es) within the Downtown BID.
  • Application must be received at least one month prior to the event date and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. For applications with a more significant impact (i.e. road closures) please plan to apply earlier.
  • The organization hosting the event may only receive funding once per calendar year (for example if you host multiple events Downtown per year you may only receive funding for one event). If you are denied for one event you may submit for another.
  • Funding through this program is first-come, first-served on a calendar year basis. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. For most requested applicants can expect a notification of award within 10 business days. Applications with significant logistical requests may require longer for review.

Expectation if awarded:

  • Downtown Grand Junction logo on printed materials (i.e. poster) and on event website
  • Verbal acknowledgement at the event is appreciated
