Kick off festival season with the biggest street party of the year! Welcome to Grand Junction Rides & Vibes Mountain Bike Race and Downtown Music Festival! With 15 bands and live bike racing action over two days, Rides & Vibes is your chance to cut loose and celebrate our amazing cycling and music community. Here’s what you need to know before you go!

When is the event?
1 p.m. Friday, May 5 – 10 p.m., Saturday, May 6.

How much does it cost?
The Rides & Vibes Downtown Music Fest is a completely free event!

Can I still register for the races?
Registration is open till May 3 at gjridesandvibes.com for the Pro Men & Women’s Crits, Pro Mountain Bike Races, Fresh 15, Dirty 30 and Filthy 40. Pre-registration is not required for the Kids Race or Community Clunker Crit, just come join us! 

What’s going on at the 600 block? 
New this year we will be having free guest clinics at Rides & Vibes.

Friday from 3:00-5:00pm: Bring your kids down before the Kids Race for fun mini races, obstacle courses and bike games with Boneshaker Adventures! No pre-registration required, just bring a parent to sign off on a waiver. Open to all age groups and ability levels.

Saturday from 2:00-6:00pm: Join The Cycle Effect for a Women and Girls Clinic (ages 10+). The Cycle Effect will have coaches available to teach fundamental mountain bike skills and progressions in a safe and encouraging environment that includes cone courses, bike ramps, and fun activities. **bilingual coaches available Pre-registration is not required, but is available here.

Who’s playing?
The music festival runs both days over two stages. Catch nationally touring artists the Expendables headlining Saturday night and rap music group Flobots headlining Friday night. Both Friday and Saturday lineups are filled with regional and local bands bringing everything from rock, soul, twang and funk to Downtown Grand Junction.   

When are the races?
Rides & Vibes starts off Friday with a bang! The festival opens at 1 p.m. Grab a beer from Colorado favorite Ska Brewing and local cider from Talbott’s Cider Co. at 3 p.m. and cheer on pro riders as they race laps through Downtown streets, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. The community favorite Clunker Crit also returns Friday night, so dress in costume and roll the streets in style!    

Mountain racing starts Saturday morning with the Pros, Filthy 40, Dirty 30, and Fresh 15. Riders start and end on Main Street so make sure to cheer on your neighbors as they cross the finish line!

Where can I get a beer?
Ska Brewing is this year’s main beer sponsor! The Durango favorite will have two pour stations, both located near the stages. Talbott’s Cider Company will also be bringing local cider favorites!

What about food?
Food truck favorites will be scattered on every block of the event. Don’t forget downtown restaurants will also be open all weekend!

Where can I park?
All public lots on Colorado Avenue are open during the entire event! The Rood Avenue lot is also available, however it will be closed from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday for the Crit Race. Street parking is also available around downtown.

Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms are located on the south side of the 4th and Main intersection, the north side of the 5th and Main intersection and the south side of the 6th and Main intersection.
