There’s lots happening for First Friday tonight!

Colorado Canyons Gallery, 623 Main Street – “Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Exhibit includes works by artists of all ages.  Beading by Trina Stancil; pastel by Kathy Herzog; oil by Yvette Campbell; photography by Ron Smith and photo-montage by Sheila Babbie..  Meet featured artists Dan Patten and John Varga of Dos Rios Pottery. The Opening Reception is during the First Friday artwalk, and runs through October 29. Visit this innovative exhibit and vote for your favorite artwork.

Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery, 437 Colorado Avenue: The CMU Gallery is opening its inaugural exhibit  on this First Friday, and a ribbon-cutting for the gallery will be held at 5pm on Friday, Oct. 3. The exhibit will be oil paintings on stainless steel by Denver artist Mai Wyn Schantz.

Oakley Gallery, 602 Main Street: Join us on Friday October 3rd for First Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. We have a special event planned with life models and featured artists Jen Swedhin, Matt Janson, Janet Kelleher and Cathy Ruzicky. We will have a demonstration  to watch the artists sketch, paint, photograph and digitally develop images of bodyscapes.  Also during 1st Friday, an eclectic group of Oakley artists will demonstrate their techniques in other media.  Food artist Lynn Finley will prepare an amazing menu for your enjoyment.

The Raw Canvas, 507 Main Street: Come celebrate our 5th Annual EXPOSED Show: #SELFIE. SHOW US YOUR SELFIE by tagging #trcselfie on Instagram! May it be crazy, freaky, and insanely weird! October 3rd, 2014 6pm-10pm, New work from our TRC gallery members, entertainment from: The CD’s, appetizers from Bin 707 Foodbar, drinks from High Country Beverage. TRC’s art openings are always a good time and FREE! This is our more adult friendly show, please leave the kiddos at home!

Aspen Photo Art Gallery, 559 Main Street: We would like to invite you to a special event October 3, 5:30 until 9 pm – First Friday Art Walk at Aspen Photo Art Gallery, Iced Tea & goodies as long as they last. Let Naturescape, fine art photographer Larry Bennett and friends give you a unique and exhilarating look at fine art photography from the West, Southwest and beyond. Please stop, visit and talk photography. Guest photographers for September are Angela Claussen, Bob Inglehart and Jeff Stoddard showing in the Vault mini gallery through December.
