There’s a ton happening Downtown this First Friday!

The Main Street Gallery, 412 Main: Featuring all new paintings by Sandy King. “White Flowers: and some that aren’t. Artist reception Nov. 7th from 5-9, Wine and appetizers will be served. The show will hang for the month of November.

Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery, 437 Colorado Avenue: The CMU Gallery will host a talk by featured artist Mai Wyn Schantz at 6:30pm. The Mai Wyn Schantz, from Denver, works with oil paintings on stainless steel.

Oakley Gallery, 602 Main: Sara Oakley demonstrates for Oakley Gallery this First Friday, working in miniature oils. Several Gallery artists demonstrate each month, and are working now to create a holiday gift collection. Join us for gourmet goodies and sips, and enjoy the work of more than 40 outstanding Western Colorado artists.

Colorado Canyons Gallery & Gifts, 623 Main: Presenting “Through the Lens of PHS–Palisade High School Student Photography”. The exhibit features the work of 28 Palisade High students & their instructors Lori A. T. Raper and Jeff Moore; 5:30-8:00 pm. The photography and Advanced art students submitted four of their favorite photos to be juried by their instructors for the exhibit. They choose from specific class assignments as well as their independent work. Of the four pieces submitted, 1-2 were selected for the show.The Exhibit runs through November 30.

The Raw Canvas, 507 Main:The Raw Canvas invites you to enjoy an evening downtown! The Raw Canvas is a must-visit stop on First Friday rounds! Open Friday until 9 pm! Come enjoy an evening with your friends at The Raw Canvas!

Aspen Photo Art Gallery, 559 Main: From 5:30 until 9:00PM. Hot Spiced Cider & Goodies as long as they last. Please stop, visit and talk photography. Guest photographers for November are Angela Claussen, Bob Inglehart, Diana Jensen, with Jeff Stoddard showing in the Vault mini gallery through December. Stop and see Jeff’s work, it is off the hook good.

Mesa County Libraries 443 N. 6th Street: Mesa County Libraries and The Literacy Center will present the 6th annual Culture Fest Art Show Reception Friday, November 7, from 6 – 8 pm at the Central Library, 5th and Grand. Juror Michael Garlitz will give a brief talk on the selection for the show and will present honoraria to 3 local artists. Entertainment will be provided by the Pete Jeffryes Duo. Culture Fest is generously funded by Mesa County Libraries, Grand Junction Commission on Arts & Culture, and Friends of Mesa County Libraries.
