Come down for a night of mapping fun, free pizza, and refreshments!
We will be learning how to use ID OpenStreetMap Editor. A user-friendly interface. No previous mapping experience required!
For this maptime we will be focusing on a humanitarian project assigned by Humanitarian OSM (HOTOSM.org). Previous projects have included Malawai flood preparedness, mapping financial inclusions in Uganda, and Indonesian disaster management.
We will have some time to mingle, eat, learn how to use OSM, and get some humanitarian work done.
What is OSM?
“Welcome to OpenStreetMap, the project that creates and distributes free geographic data for the world. We started it because most maps you think of as free actually have legal or technical restrictions on their use, holding back people from using them in creative, productive, or unexpected ways.”
Come one come all! Bring your friends, your mom, your dog, or whoever!
ok maybe not your dog…
