The Grand Junction Symphony presents “Celebration of Strings”

Join the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra (GJSO) for this delightful and uplifting performance, “Celebration of Strings.” This performance will feature a 25-musician, all strings instruments orchestra performing twice at the Avalon Theatre; the first performance will be Saturday, April 10 at 7:00 pm, the second will follow on Sunday, April 11 at 3:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale now!

The GJSO is proud to present this beautiful variety of string pieces by three wonderful American composers. Selections Include: Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, Mother and Child by William Grant Still, and Serenade for Strings, Op. 12 by Victor Herbert.

During intermission, GJSO Music Director and Conductor, Charles Latshaw will share his insight on the pieces in his famous “Intermission Talks.” Learn more about what makes this music particularly special during these times, and why Latshaw picked them for this performance.
