On Thursday, August 25th, from 6pm to 7pm, two well known local authors will be joining us for this special event. John Nizalowski, author of Land of the Cinnamon Sun, Hooking the Sun, The Last Matinee & East of Kayenta, will be presenting, Mythology of the American Southwest: A Literary Journey. A CMU instructor, John Nizalowski will examine the myths and legends of the Hopi, Pueblo, and Navajo Indian peoples and illustrate these culturally defining stories with excerpts from his four books.
Come by CRYSTAL Books and Gifts, during their weekly “Off The Shelf Author Series” on Thursday evenings during the Downtown Farmer’s Market. It is free to the public and is a great opportunity to meet local authors while enjoying fun and entertaining presentations by them. Take a break from the hot temperatures on the street and drop in for a few minutes or the entire hour.
Joining John will be Sally Crum, author of The Night the Stars Fell, Race to the Moonrise, Race to the River and People of the Red Earth. Archeologist and author, Sally Crum will present a hands on exploration about the region’s original inhabitants’ culture – from prehistoric mammoth hunters to the historic Ute Tribes.
