Dr. Michael Pramenko will provide an update on Healthcare Reform, its policies and politics. He will explain why healthcare reform is needed and how it will improve patients’ experiences and access, the health of the whole population, and the value/cost of healthcare. He will also describe local efforts at reform. A question and answer session will follow.
Dr Pramenko is the Executive Director of Primary Care Partners, the largest Primary Care Practice in Western Colorado. He is the immediate past-President of the Colorado Medical Society and before that he served two terms as President of the Mesa County Medical Society. In 2007, he was named Family Physician of the Year by the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians. As an outspoken proponent of Grand Junction’s unique healthcare system, he has appeared on PBS’s News Hour, NPR’s Science Friday, and was interviewed by Tom Brokaw for NBC News.
