The Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery presents Transform, an exhibition of etchings, paintings, drawings, and mixed media from CMU Artist-in-Residence Lily Cain. Cain explores the fragmented nature of performance and disguise through the use of insects, ornamentation, and the figure.
A native Californian, Cain received her BFA from Sonoma State University and her MFA from the Royal College of Art in London. She has shown her work at galleries in England and the U.S., most recently at the Sandra Lee Gallery in San Francisco. This is her first solo show since moving to Colorado. Cain teaches Printmaking and Foundations classes at CMU.
The Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery is located at 437 Colorado Avenue in Grand Junction, CO. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 12-5 p.m. and admission is free. On Friday, February 6 there will be a public reception to view the exhibit and meet the artist from 6:30 to 9 p.m. For more information, call the Art Department at (970) 248-1833.
