I don’t know about you, but this mild winter has us dreaming of hanging out in Downtown Grand Junction! Already it’s warm enough to grab lunch or a craft beer, and sit outside on a downtown patio. Before you know it we will be back to dining al fresco on cool evening nights and enjoying one of our signature downtown events!
Speaking of events, we are excited to announce a full slate of programming planned for 2021! Downtown favorites like the Market on Main, the Car Show, Tree Lighting, and Parade of Lights are all scheduled for 2021. More details coming soon!
If you can’t wait to get in on the fun, mark your calendars for Tuesday nights at the Avalon Theatre because Dinner, Shopping, and a Movie (DSM) is back! Spend $5 or more anywhere downtown on Tuesdays, bring your receipt with you to the Avalon, and you’ll get a free entry to the movie!
DSM is a pretty easy way to support downtown restaurants, businesses, and the Avalon Theatre, all while doing something fun for yourself. The movie lineup for February is also stacked:
• February 16 – “News of the World”
• February 23 – “Croods: A New Age”
Headed your way in the near future is Restaurant Week. This year we’ve pushed the event back to April 9 – 18 with the hopes that restaurants can take advantage of the warmer weather and use their outdoor patios and expand their capacity. Restaurant Week takes on special significance this year as it is still critical to support independently owned, locally owned restaurants, hard hit by the pandemic.
As we learned last year, event information can change quickly. For the latest updates make sure to follow @downtowngj on Facebook and Instagram!
