Miscellaneous 2: The Future of the Future

We are on the verge of a number of major changes to our society on many fronts, including financial, medical, and political systems to name a few. This class will be a catch-all to discuss where it is all headed, and to address concerns about the rapidly changing landscape of our technologically-dependent culture. I will be using a series of supplemental materials, YouTube videos, TED Talks and more to bring this new way to thinking into focus using simple language. A few topics that I’ll be prepared to answer include the controversial Block Chain database technology, Google’s overarching Alphabet Corporation (http://abc.xyz), integrated biotechnologies, driverless cars, the end of the traditional 40-hour work week, and how this is all creates an advantage for busy creatives. There will be lots of time for questions, and most importantly, we will learn how to best ask a search engine for answers to questions we don’t know.
